The 15th of April not only marks Patriots day in the US it also now marks yet another terrorist attack on its home soil. Yesterday 3 people died, including an eight year old boy and left more than a hundred and seventy three people injured of which seventeen critical. The devastation of the deaths and calibre of injuries sustained by the innocent victims drove sock and horror into a country that is not unfamiliar to these kinds of attacks. Sharp objects and ball bearings caused most of the damage and ripped body parts was scattered amongst wounded children and by standers alike. Thousands of lives will be forever effected by this tragedy.
The bombs went off shortly after 3pm and about 12 seconds apart. The location and timing of this malicious attack was strategically planned to inflict the most damage. The devices that were used were pressure cookers that have actually been listed on the FBI anti-terrorist documents as items to be aware of that are frequently used by terrorists for bombings.
Mr Obama said that they are not sure yet whom is responsible and that they will get to the bottom of it
“This was a heinous and cowardly act and given what we now know about what took place, the FBI is investigating it as an act of terrorism,” the President said in his second appearance in less than 24 hours. “Any time bombs are used to target innocent civilians it is an act of terror.”
The FBI said that it will go to the ends of the earth to get to identify the subjects and bring them to justice.
At the moment this attack is suspected are domestic of nature and not part of a al-Qaida inspired plot.
The whole world mourns the devastation of this ruthless and senseless attack and these devastating and relentless murders. Boston will be in our thoughts and prayers as they try and overcome this tragedy.
