FREE ADIDAS RUNNING APP NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD

Designed for the runners and supporters of the 2014 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon

Following its success in its first edition last year, adidas South Africa has once again released a free app especially for runners and supporters of the 2014 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon. Download the adidas Running app and stay connected on race day with live notifications from friends and family.

Exciting new features include in-app messaging which will help build excitement leading up to the event and even follow the progress of the adidas running ambassadors – Derek van DamLetshego Zulu, Gugu ZuluNicolene Mostert and Janez Vermeiren. There is now also an in-app competition feature, which allows users to win instant prizes at the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon Expo.

Similar to the previous version, the pre-set race day status messages feature will include Twitter and Facebook. Supporters tracking their loved ones will get notifications when their tracked runners cross the finish line as well as when they cross the relevant checkpoints along the route and if a user has past race history, they are able share this as an image across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, email, text message and WhatsApp.

The tracking functionality has also been improved making it easier to see runners progress. Users can even elect to add a runner to their tracking list using an official race number.

The #myjourney feature provides a platform where every runner’s reason for running is captured and made publicly visible, to inspire as well as connect the Two Oceans Marathon and adidas running communities through the app.

The adidas running app can be downloaded for free from the iPhone App Store or Google Play while previous users will receive an update notification.
