I have reviewed most of the New Balance trainers since they brought out the Fresh Foam, and once again the new addition did not disappoint.

What I like the most about The #FreshFoamLAZR, is that the shoe just makes sense from the top down without compromising the bank balance.

At first glance the shoe looks sleek, and on fitting it your foot finds home inside the fused one piece upper. This upper was designed and manufactured using no-sew technology. Yes you heard right. This technology I not only soft on the eye but it also eliminates pressure points usually associated with cut and sewn together shoes. The sock like upper made from “Hyposkin” adapts to the foots movements in all directions, allowing natural performance and movement during training.

Although the upper plays a big role in the comfort and overall performance of the shoe, the sole is really where the jam is. The key to this shoe’s performance is the ever developing Fresh Foam. Fresh Foam is based on technology which absorbs and returns energy when working out. This is mostly useful on high impact, to be a bit gentler on the foot in the long run.

With no stone left unturned, the outer sole is also extremely light weight and functional, the sole has an octagon pattern which flexes to allow your foot to move naturally.

The Fresh Foam LAZR is available in two colours and comes in under R1 900 rand. I think it’s the perfect blend between a functional trainer and an everyday sneaker.

If you are a serious long distance runner this would not be for you. I recommend this shoe for medium mileage and a neutral foot type. The Fresh Foam is on shelves from 15 Feb.
